Dr. Paul T. Woo, Optometrist
Dr. Woo is the founder and clinical director of 1234 Ortho-K Vision Care.
About Dr. Woo
- Over 30 years of Ortho-K experience.
- First Asian doctor to lecture at the Global Orthokeratology conference.
- Award of Excellence for top non-surgical vision correction center.
Dr. Woo graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Irvine, and went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry.
After graduating, he worked in many different kinds of practice and opened his own clinic in 1998.
He has always specialized in contact lenses and was already focused on orthokeratology by 1990.
In the early ’90s he was fitting pilots and firefighters who wanted to pass their vision requirements.
As orthokeratology evolved from day wear to night wear, so did Dr. Woo. Today, he treats children who want to keep their myopia from progressing and who are able to see well all day just by wearing lenses while they sleep.
He is one of the most experienced certified orthokeratology doctors in the United States.
Since 1998, Dr. Woo has treated 41,879 patients and children with nearsightedness, amblyopia and related eye conditions, and he still sees patients every day.
He has treated children as young as 5.
Dr. Woo is a former president of the San Gabriel Valley Optometric Association.
He wants to continue working with other doctors to expand the acceptance and success of orthokeratology, so that more nearsighted patients can protect their vision.
